As I mark my 15 year anniversary with Hillcrest Church, I marvel at how
fast the years have gone by. It's amazing how time flies when you are
having fun!
In 1993, my journey as a staff pastor for Hillcrest Church began. Grant
and I had recently moved to the Dallas area with our family, and were
new members of Hillcrest. Although I had fifteen years of church
experience in children's, youth and adult ministry, I didn't think I wanted to be anything more than an occasional volunteer...but God had different plans for me.
One Sunday morning in early September, as the children paraded onto the
stage for a "Back to School Blessing", I felt God tugging on my heart.
I sensed in my spirit He was saying, "this is what I have prepared you
for." I couldn't wait until Monday to call the church office and see if
the job offer I'd turned down was still available.
The rest is history...
I'm slightly older and a tad smarter than I was back then, but I still
believe being a Children's Pastor is the BEST job in the world! I am
humbled that God uses ME to teach His kids! Thank you for being my
church home, Hillcrest, and for entrusting me with such an awesome
priviledge. I plan on being here for a long time. The best is yet to
come...
